Vienna Woods half day programme

A half day excursion to the surroundings of Vienna.


Have you heard of the famous singing monks in Heiligenkreuz monastery? If not, it´s about time to visit one of the oldest monasteries of Austria, in the beautiful Vienna Woods. 


After your private tour of this place of contemplation we continue on to the popular little spa town Baden bei Wien, a town with a long history, which started when Romans dicovered the healthy mineral springs. Until today people travel to this treasury in the Woods to relax in various health resorts.


In the early 19th century the royal family fell in love with Baden and today the old town is a perfect example of city architecture adapted for countryside purpose.


After a walk and a cup of coffe we will return to Vienna, driving along the romantic wine roads which take us back into town.

Vienna Woods full day programme

We will start our tour with a visit of Lichtenstein Castle just a few miles outside the city. A very pretty 19th century fortress owned by the princely family of Liechtenstein. If you are in walking mood we will do the full tour of the castle before we continue to Heiligenkreuz.


A very special location of Passion and Music. The singing monks of this cistercian monastery a world famous. During our private tour of the abbey you will hear about the founders life and work, and about the modern life of monks. Discover the passion of generations creating a place of contemplation and reflection.


Our next stop will be the beautiful spa town Baden bei Wien, known for mineral springs for more than 2000 years. After a walk through the "Emperor´s town" we still have time to explore more. 


What about wine tasting in an Wine Cellar that dates back to the 15th century? And then we deserve to have dinner in one of the typical wine taverns befor we go back to Vienna.
